Alumni from virtually any school can be said to be
passionate about their Alma Matters. This,
however, is just not true about the alumni of the
University of Arkansas. These alum are not just
passionate – they are in fact, HOG WILD. Yes,
that’s right, you’ve not experienced team loyalty
and devotion until you’ve heard the “Calling of the
Hogs” by 70,000 + fans who attend each home
Razorback football game. “WOOO PIG SOUIE.”
But don’t just take our word for it…Fayetteville was
recently dubbed one of the “Top 50 Sports Towns
in America” by Sports Illustrated Magazine.
On game day, get ready to enjoy a full day of
supporting those Hogs. Burgers, barbeque and
potato salad are on the menu for pre-game
tailgate parties. Fans begin setting up their lawn
chairs and food tents early in the morning in
preparation of a Hog Good Time. A sea of red
shirts and other Razorback apparel is a sure sign
of the support and dedication the Alumni feel for
their football team and their school.
Now don’t get the idea that UA Alumni only care
about sports. They are just as passionate about
their educational institution as well. The University
of Arkansas has just reached and surpassed the
$1 billion goal it set for itself in its most recent
fundraising effort.
